QUEENSLAND Senator Brett Mason is among a group of investors who fear they have lost their savings after investing in a natural medicines company run by his neighbour.
Senator Mason was wooed by his Brisbane neighbour and former bankrupt, Patrick Wilson, to plunge $150,000 into New Zeal, as well as join the board of the company which purported to be developing a range of drugs, including a natural ADHD medication.
The eminent board also counted former New Zealand finance minister Sir Roger Douglas and former Ernst and Young chief executive Tom O'Brien. All three have since resigned after it became apparent the company was not going to meet deadlines to brings its products to market.
