QUEENSLAND Senator Brett Mason is among a group of investors who fear they have lost their savings after investing in a natural medicines company run by his neighbour.
Senator Mason was wooed by his Brisbane neighbour and former bankrupt, Patrick Wilson, to plunge $150,000 into New Zeal, as well as join the board of the company which purported to be developing a range of drugs, including a natural ADHD medication.

The eminent board also counted former New Zealand finance minister Sir Roger Douglas and former Ernst and Young chief executive Tom O'Brien. All three have since resigned after it became apparent the company was not going to meet deadlines to brings its products to market.

A "cautionary tale" about Patrick Shaun Wilson and Frances Wilson Fitzgerald of the Auckland Opera Studio

THE Queensland senator who lost $150,000 in a failed business deal with his neighbour has unleashed a tirade against him under cover of parliamentary privilege.

Liberal Senator Brett Mason used Parliament last night to call former bankrupt Patrick Wilson a "sociopathic conman" and "disgrace" after convincing investors to plunge money into the natural medicines company New Zeal.

The company, which promised medication including a breakthrough natural ADHD drug, failed to produce any products and has left shareholders hundreds of thousands of dollars out of pocket.

Senator Mason said he was speaking up about Mr Wilson as a "cautionary tale" for other investors.
